EUROPEAN PARTNER SEARCH FOR 3º EUROSTARS CALL-SILPROVET PROJECT

The SILPROVET project plans to respond to the market´s necessity, proposing an alternative to both antibiotics and ZnO in, but not restricted to, the pig production industry. SILPROVET employs a highly innovative patented technology based on the use of silver nanoparticles. This solution provides a better antimicrobial action than other alternatives, as well as a very low cytotoxicity. Additionally, the nanoparticle technology used enables a reduction in dosage, reducing toxicity and side effects. Apart from being an environmentally friendly product, these characteristics make SILPROVET a very promising technology platform as a new class of veterinary antimicrobial in substitution of antibiotics and ZnO (permitted use until June 2022).
